Sustainability & Values
Hospitality is care for land, community, and history.

Living History, Living Land
Nestled between forest and sea, our daily practices honor this connection. We restore vintage trailers and preserve our historic cabins and suites, keeping their original craftsmanship and spirit alive. Each space is furnished with antiques and vintage pieces, chosen with care so that every lamp, chair, and curtain carries a story. We mend our linens, craft curtains from reclaimed fabrics, refill our soaps, and use non-toxic cleaning products. Our grounds are tended with native plantings, fire rings, picnic tables, and winding paths that invite guests to slow down and notice the rhythms of the peninsula.

Nurturing Community
Through Sou’wester Arts we host residencies, workshops, youth programs, exhibitions, and a community clay studio that strengthen connections between culture, ecology, and community. Our Front Porch Market highlights local brewers, roasters, and makers, and our shared-use spaces invite gathering and exchange.

Welcoming All
The Sou’wester is meant to feel like home to everyone who arrives. Warmth, hospitality, and belonging guide the way we welcome guests and neighbors, as if the hearth has been warmed up just for them.
Looking Ahead
For us, sustainability is a practice that grows over time, and we continue to look for ways to deepen our care. At its heart, the Sou’wester is about reciprocity: the land cares for us, we care for the land; the community nourishes us, we give back to the community. This circle of care is the soul of the Sou’wester.
