Students will explore the art of closed-form wheel throwing, inspired by the teachings of renowned ceramic artist Toshiko Takaezu. Under the guidance of David Campiche who was mentored by Takaezu as a young artist.

Participants will learn to create their own “peace pot”—a fully enclosed vessel that holds a hidden message inside.

We will focus on throwing and shaping the closed form, with an opportunity for students to place personal or healing messages within their pieces. This workshop is open to students with prior wheel-throwing experience who are eager to explore new forms and deepen their connection to their work.
