Indigo Sanctuary: Little Blue Houses to Hold Hope
An interactive installation by Iris Sullivan Daire with pieces contributed from Constance Waisanen & Jennie Bertone
Artist Statement:
Iris Sullivan Daire is an installation artist focused on using natural colors in her work sourced from plants, minerals, and occasionally a few bugs. She lives in Astoria.
Indigo Sanctuary also includes indigo dyed works from Astoria Artist Constance Waisanen, and Berkley California Artist Jennie Bertone.
This installation is in part an offering in conjunction with Indigofest, which is a week long retreat celebrating indigo from seed to cloth which happens every August at the Sou’wester.
Indigofest was founded by artists Britt Boles & Iris Sullivan who collaborate with the incredible blue crew to bring indigo education and community to the Coast. (Both Constance & Jennie are members of the Blue Crew.)
