Live Music: Mama Sam & The Jam

Portland based, Psychedelic Folk Pop band, Mama Sam & The Jam lifts vibrations and gives goosebumps. Like Mazzy Star meets Fleetwood Mac, catchy melodies and powerful harmonies over trippy guitar and groovy beats leaves listeners feeling high on vibes.

The group’s fresh and intense synergy makes Mama Sam & The Jam fun to watch as they tug at your heartstrings and make you move! The Jam features musicians like Carmen Paradise, Nick Foltz, Justine Renee, Rachael Curtin and Mike Wiser. Mama Sam is a soulful songwriter who sings lead and plays guitar.

The band released their first E.P., “Hearing is Hard” at the end of 2019 with producer Sean Flora. During Covid, Mama Sam recorded and released an E.P. with Ryan Oxford called “Home” in 2021. Once The Jam was back together rocking a rolling, at the end of 2022 they recorded 9 new tracks and just released the first single called “Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow” in Feb 2023.

Wisconsin born and performing since she can remember, Mama Sam is a soulful songwriter who scrubs hearts with her captivating voice and groovy guitar. She performed in a multitude of bands in Chicago throughout the 2000s like Calibrated Crematorium, Willy Dynomite, Cartolinas, The Flower Beds and more.
