Kurinuki: Carving Bowls, Teacups & Vases Workshop @ Ilwaco Artworks
Nov 9 @ 2:00 pm – Nov 10 @ 6:00 pm

11/9 & 10: “Kurinuki” – Carving Bowls, Cups & Vases 2-day workshop w/visitng artist Gelindo L. Ferrin at Ilwaco Artworks. All ages – All experience levels welcome! $115/person.

REGISTER

Kurinuki is a traditional way of working with clay that comes from Japan. Unlike other ceramic techniques that involve modeling or turning, this method consists of carving a solid block of clay. This is a great intro to those wanting to explore clay, and the best part is there are no hard rules about precision, technique, tools to use, or design. This workshop is mixed-level and open to beginners!

Gelindo L. Ferrin was a public-school teacher for 24 years, teaching the visual arts, primarily pottery and ceramics. After retiring from education, he decided to explore other clay techniques and strive to go to places to teach about clay and visit interesting places as well as meeting and encouraging others to explore the endless possibilities with clay.
