Portland, OR based guitarist-instructor-singer-songwriter Noah Beck dwells in that umami place of subtle and powerful. He is both disarmingly real and gently empowering. With grande swaths of knowledge and a collection of technical skills that span genres, his panache for blending somehow doesn’t end up as a brown-grey heap, but instead is a colorful balance, a simultaneous immersion into rich planes of many.
Renee Muzquiz’ brisk guitar rhythms and colorful chord progressions set her apart from other singers-songwriters. Her voice harbors a confident edge and a subtle natural vibrato that breathes a captivating theatrical like into her songs. She has released two albums, Perfect Weather (2007) and The Clearing (2011).

Corrina Repp is a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, based in Portland, Oregon. We welcome Corrina and celebrate the release of “The Pattern of Electricity”, Corrina Repp’s first solo album in almost ten years. This album unites the moments (joyous and sad) and places (magnificent and mundane) that bring us together.
Ritchie Young (Loch Lomond) has toured nationally and internationally since 2005, playing his original take on slow pop music. He has the ability to switch from high-pitched fragility to alto thunder in the turn of a phrase, yet he knows the power of restraint intuitively, saving vocal tornadoes for emotional apexes buoyed by string swells and moving arrangements.
Please join us in welcoming to The Sou’wester, our current Artist-In-Resident, Timothy Root this Thursday May 28th at 8pm for a showing of his new work. Tim will delight us with spoken word, harmonica, songs and a display of spectacular collages of the mind.
Timothy “Blacklung” Root, somewhere along a rather crooked road, made a right turn and ended up at the Sou’wester. Lost in the everlasting present moment, Timothy begins to create the collages of his mind. Paint will fly, colliding with magazines, to create pictures out of thin air. The harmonica will blow and there will be sonnets at 7 in the sauna. We hear Tim say, “Yes my good friends, join in the spectacle.”
While embracing the psychedelic revival of the millennial generation, this 5 piece continues to honor 50’s and 60’s rock n’ roll. The Moon By You sound is akin to a spaceship landing in a swamp while Elvis’ ghost croons from a cypress tree under a full moon. Lead vocalist and front woman Sarah Kue guides her motley crew of band mates over desert landscapes and dream worlds. Her partner, Tyler Verign, holds the rhythm section down as he has since Kue and himself started Moon By You in 2010.
